Response times
We answer WhatsApp and email within one working day in the off-season. During an active expedition window — July to September in Ladakh, May to June and September to October in Garhwal — the lead guide may be above 4,000 m and out of signal for two or three days at a stretch. If a reply is slow in those windows, it is because someone is on a mountain, not because the message was missed. Call the second line if the matter is urgent.
Office hours are 9:00 to 19:00 India Standard Time (UTC+5:30), Monday to Saturday. Emergency calls about a climber already on a trip are taken at any hour.
Where we are
The Vertical Tribe is based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Dehradun is the staging city for our Garhwal expeditions — Black Peak and Dev Kyara both start here — and is reachable by overnight train from Delhi or by flight to Jolly Grant Airport, 30 km from the city. Our Ladakh trips stage from Leh and our Nepal treks from Kathmandu and Pokhara.
We do not run a walk-in retail office. Meetings in Dehradun are by appointment, arranged over WhatsApp — that way you meet the guide who will actually be leading your trip rather than a salesperson.
